October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

#AHNPinkFight2025

The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2025, about 2,760 Nevadans will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and roughly 440 will die from the disease.

This September, as we enter Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are calling on you to stand with these women.

Access Cancer Care Network of Nevada delivers a comprehensive, statewide response to cancer detection and treatment. Through partners such as Renown Health and Saint Mary’s Hospital we provide community outreach and education, free and reduced-cost screenings, treatment and recovery services, financial assistance, social service support, and so much more.

This year, our goal of $50,000 by October 31st will allow us to continue to give women in Nevada the chance to fight and win against breast cancer. Together, we can ensure no woman in Nevada fights breast cancer alone. The need is urgent. Every day without care can mean the difference between survival and loss.

Women enrolled in the Access Cancer Care Network of Nevada are uninsured and can’t get treatment any other way.

Because of supporters like you, last year our Cancer Care Network:

  • Served over 7,000 women throughout Nevada.
  • Delivered 6,990 screenings.
  • Supported 194 treatment journeys.
  • Helped 98% begin treatment within 60 days of diagnosis.

What your donation can help pay for?

  • $500 unlocks $3,000 in essential care through our provider network—mammograms, ultrasounds, and the navigation that gets results back fast.
  • $1,000 helps unlock $6,000 in care—enough to pay for a breast surgery in total.
  • $5,000 helps unlock $30,000 in care—propelling a woman in need from diagnosis through an entire course of chemotherapy.
  • Every $1 donated to the Access Cancer Care Network provides for $6 in care through our provider partnerships.

Screening saves lives. Have you had your mammogram this year?

The Task Force recommends that women who are 40 to 74 years old and are at average risk for breast cancer get a mammogram every 2 years. Women should weigh the benefits and risks of screening tests. Different screening recommendations may be used for women at higher than average risk.

Are You Eligible for Free or Low-Cost Screenings?

Access Cancer Care Network of Nevada provides breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services to low-income women who are uninsured or underinsured (cannot afford the cost of care). Thanks to the generosity of WHC providers, Nevada women who meet certain qualifications may be eligible to receive FREE cervical and breast cancer screenings at no charge.
