FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If your question is not answered here, please contact your Care Coordinator.

I need to have lab work done.
You should have an AHN lab request form filled out by your doctor.  If you do not have a completed lab request form, please contact your doctor’s office.  If you do, you can go to either Renown Health or Saint Mary’s out-patient labs.

Renown Out-Patient Lab (located at 1155 Mill St.) – park at the Second street garage or valet and enter the building with the entrance marked “Center for Advanced Medicine C”.   Let the receptionist know you are with AHN and need to have labwork.

Saint Mary’s Out-patient Lab
(located at 235 West Sixth St.) -- park in the Arlington parking garage (free).  Go in the Arlington street entrance and check-in at the front desk.  Let the receptionist know that you are with AHN and need to have labwork.

Do not use Lab Corps or Quest for labs.
Labs for members are only $5 per test; your provider must use the Access to Healthcare Network lab form.

I need to have a Pap Smear.
All Pap Smears are processed through UNR; your provider must use the Access to Healthcare Network lab form.

I need to have a prescription filled.  Is there a program that offers discounts?

You can complete an online application for Rx Access by clicking here.

I need to see a specialist.
You need to have a referral from your primary care physician (PCP).  Your PCP will fax the referral to our office and we will process the referral.  You will be contacted by your care coordinator once the referral is processed.

Please note that you cannot go to a specialist without a referral from your PCP.

I need to go to the dentist.
You can go to any Absolute Dental listed on our provider list. You can make an appointment at any time and do not need a referral.

I got a bill from a provider.
Call the number listed on the bill and explain that you are an AHN member and that you have already paid for the service.  Ask them if they would like you to fax them the receipt as proof of payment.  If you are not able to resolve the issue on your own, please contact your care coordinator who will be happy to help you.

I want to see a provider who isn’t on the AHN Provider List.

You are only entitled to the AHN discount with participating providers.  You are responsible to pay out-of-network providers their rate.

I need an updated Provider List.
Download the provider list or call 770-6035 to have one mailed to you.

Where do I go for imaging?  X-rays, MRI, etc.
Please call your care coordinator.  You need a referral filled out by your doctor to access these services.

My doctor’s office is closed, where can I go.
If it is an emergency please call 911.
If it is not a life threatening emergency, please go to an Urgent Care.
