What is access to healthcare network?
Access to Healthcare Network is a comprehensive Network of hospitals and primary, specialty and ancillary health care providers generously offering their services to the uninsured at a reduced fee. The Network provides uninsured Nevada residents access to professional health care at a reduced rate while providing timely compensation for providers enrolled in the Network.
how does the program work?
AHN is not an insurance plan; members are required to pay cash at the time of service. AHN is a fee for service program providing increased access to professional health care for uninsured Nevada residents.
AHN is a vital alternative for those who do not qualify for public programs and are uninsured. Prior to enrollment, members are screened for eligibility in Medicaid, Medicare or Nevada Check-up and if qualified are assisted with the application process. If members are not eligible for public assistance, and meet our eligibility criteria, then they are enrolled in AHN.
All referrals to specialists and other ancillary health care services must come from the primary care provider. The program provides member care coordination focusing on education on medical office protocol, health care literacy and referrals for other issues such as housing and job placement.
What are the benefits of access to healthcare network for our community?
Access to Healthcare Network is innovative and effective, with the potential to impact thousands of uninsured Nevadans. The impact of providing increased access to timely and quality health care for the uninsured can be measured by a number of indicators.
