Nevada Covering Kids and Families

As a program of Access to Healthcare Network, Nevada Covering Kids and Families (CKF) links families with uninsured children to health care by providing application assistance, outreach and public education to not only Nevada's uninsured population, but also the community based organizations that serve them.

Narrowing the gap between the number of children eligible for Nevada Check Up and Medicaid and the number who benefit is critical. We do this by: facilitating statewide training on health care options; developing partnerships to promote health care, education, awareness; and mobilizing community partners to assist families in obtaining health care access.

Ryan White/ADAP Program

AHN is the coordinator for the Ryan White program for Northern Nevada. Ryan White is a nationwide program that is controlled state by state. Ryan White assists HIV/AIDS diagnosed patients and their families with a variety of services. In the state of Nevada they can get access to assistance with medical needs through HOPES clinic and help with medication, food, transportation, housing, support groups and various other social services/case management services. More information on Northern Nevada HOPES can be found on their website. If the patient has insurance, they can also get assistance with premiums and/or co pays as funding allows. AHN assists in determining Ryan White eligibility for all of Northern Nevada. Any patient that would need to access Ryan White funded services would need to maintain eligibility through AHN. AHN also has a partnership with Ryan White that allows the uninsured patients to join AHN as a Patient Care Fund Member. These patients are able to access specialty care providers, including dental and vision services, within AHN’s network through Ryan White funding.
